Muscle Help Foundation becomes title partner of South East Powerchair Football League

The South East Powerchair Football League (SEPFL) is delighted to announce a new two-year partnership with the Muscle Help Foundation (MHF) charity, with the league becoming known as the “Muscle Help Foundation South East Powerchair Football League” for the 2026–27 and 2027–28 seasons.
The partnership builds on MHF’s longstanding connection with Powerchair Football, having previously supported the sport through the charity’s Muscle Warriors Powerchair Football Team founded in 2012 and its ongoing sponsorship of The Wheelchair Football Association (The WFA) ‘Barry O’Leary Services to Powerchair Football Award’ that recognises individuals who make a lasting and meaningful impact across the sport, both on and off the court. This exciting new agreement represents an opportunity to extend that support across the wider regional competition, benefiting players and clubs across the South East.
The SEPFL has been a cornerstone of regional competition since its inception in 2013. It currently brings together 11 teams (that include Solent PFC in Hampshire, Norwich City PFC in Norfolk and Sevenoaks PFC in Kent) and around 70 players across two divisions, with five league competition days taking place each season.
Regional leagues play an important role in the Powerchair Football pathway, providing regular competitive opportunities for players close to home while supporting player development, club sustainability and continued participation.
The partnership will help the SEPFL continue to deliver and develop regional competition over the next two seasons, while creating further opportunities to connect the Muscle Help Foundation with players, families and the wider Powerchair Football community.

Alan Murray SEPFL chairperson said:
“We are absolutely delighted to be partnering with the Muscle Help Foundation for the next two years. This collaboration brings together two organisations that share a passion for creating opportunities, inspiring communities, and making a lasting difference. The Muscle Help Foundation has long held a special place in our hearts, and we are proud to work together to raise awareness of both powerchair football and the Muscle Help Foundation’s incredible work. We look forward to building a meaningful partnership that will benefit players, supporters, and the wider community for years to come.”
Michael McGrath MBE, MHF’s founder & CEO commented:
“In continuing to demonstrate the Muscle Help Foundation’s long-standing commitment to the growing and hugely inclusive sport of Powerchair Football, we are delighted to announce our sponsorship of the South East Powerchair Football League (SEPFL). We are incredibly proud to be extending our relationship with Powerchair Football and to play a part in supporting the SEPFL, its players, clubs and wider community. The sport provides not only a fantastic competitive platform, but also opportunities for connection, confidence, ambition and belonging. I look forward to supporting the SEPFL’s continued growth and development and seeing what we can achieve together over the coming two seasons.”
The partnership will also provide opportunities for the two organisations to work together on awareness, storytelling and engagement throughout the two-year agreement, helping to highlight the experiences of players and families and the role that Powerchair Football plays within their lives.
The Muscle Help Foundation (MHF) charity has a long-established commitment to supporting vulnerable people and families living with muscle-wasting conditions, specifically Muscular Dystrophy (MD), through its Muscle Dream interventions. Its continued involvement in Powerchair Football provides an opportunity to build on that history while supporting the wider regional infrastructure that enables players to compete regularly.
The South East Powerchair Football League (SEPFL) looks forward to working closely with the Muscle Help Foundation (MHF) throughout the partnership and to beginning the next chapter of their shared connection with Powerchair Football.
The South East Powerchair Football League (SEPFL) will now be known as the “Muscle Help Foundation South East Powerchair Football League” for the duration of the two-year partnership.
