CureDuchenne announces educational events for Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy families and caregivers

Free nationwide events deliver expert guidance and meaningful connections for families impacted by Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., February 3, 2026CureDuchenne, a global leader in advancing research and improving patient care for individuals with Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy, today announced the 2026 line-up of CureDuchenne CARES events, designed to deliver the latest treatment insights, practical resources, and meaningful community connections.

Throughout 2026, CureDuchenne will host free, full-day workshops and evening dinner sessions across the country. Families from across the country and around the world will also come together in Orlando, FL, in May for the organization’s annual FUTURES National Conference.

At each CARES workshop, attendees will hear from leading clinicians, local healthcare providers, and CureDuchenne experts who will share best practices in multidisciplinary care and physical therapy techniques to help preserve mobility. Sessions will also feature updates on emerging treatments, ongoing clinical trials, and practical discussions often not covered in traditional clinic visits. Each event includes an interactive “Open House” that connects families with local support services as well as pharmaceutical companies available to answer questions about treatment options. Breakfast and lunch are provided, translation services are provided, and lodging assistance is available for qualifying attendees.

The CARES dinner sessions provide a welcoming, small-group environment focused on caregiver mental health, self-care, and connection. These intimate gatherings create space for honest conversations, shared experiences, and meaningful support within the Duchenne and Becker community.

Building on this momentum, the 2026 FUTURES National Conference invites families, caregivers, and professionals to come together on May 21–24, 2026, at the JW Marriott Orlando, Grande Lakes. The event will feature sessions on navigating different stages of the disease, treatments and scientific advancements, mental health, multidisciplinary care, career and life skills, caregiver and sibling support, and more. The event will also feature a dedicated track in Spanish as well as multilingual translation services for all sessions. Participants will also enjoy family-friendly activities, including an unforgettable swim with dolphins experience an all-inclusive, fun-filled day at Discovery Cove.

Debra Miller, founder and CEO of CureDuchenne, highlights the ongoing need for family support as the community continues to navigate advances in research and care.

“Our events are about more than sharing information—it’s about strengthening the bonds within our community. By bringing families, clinicians, and experts together, we create spaces where knowledge inspires confidence and connection fuels hope.”
