NHL All-Star Troy Terry and wife Dani to host CureDuchenne golf shootout on September 12–13, continuing a legacy of impact for Duchenne muscular dystrophy
Event has raised over $6.3 million to date, advancing lifesaving research and therapies for individuals with Duchenne
CureDuchenne, a leading global non-profit focused on finding and funding a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, is proud to announce the 14th Annual CureDuchenne Golf Shootout, hosted by Anaheim Ducks right wing Troy Terry and his wife Dani, on September 12–13, 2025, at Monarch Beach Golf Links in Dana Point, California.
The CureDuchenne Golf Shootout, started by NHL All-Star Ryan Getzlaf and his wife Paige, and now hosted by Dani and Troy Terry, brings together professional athletes, celebrities, and community leaders for a two-day event including an MVP Dinner reception on Friday evening, followed by an action-packed day of golf and activities on Saturday.
The event has raised over $6.3 million for CureDuchenne to date, funding ground-breaking research and accelerating treatments for individuals with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. This year’s event will also fund programs like the recently announced CureDuchenne Clinic within the Neuromuscular Program at Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC). This clinic will provide state-of-the-art, multidisciplinary care and the latest advancements in diagnostics and treatment all in one location, improving access to care for families in Southern California and beyond.
Troy Terry is a two-time NHL All-Star, 2018 Olympian and World Junior Champion for Team USA, and NCAA champion at the University of Denver. Selected by Anaheim in the fifth round of the 2015 NHL Draft, Terry leads the Ducks in points since making his NHL debut in 2018. Terry now ranks in the top 10 in all-time points and goals in Anaheim Ducks history.

Since joining the Anaheim Ducks, Troy and Dani Terry have been incredibly generous in their support of the Southern California community. Troy and Dani are passionate advocates and supporters of CureDuchenne, driven by their personal journey as parents of two young boys.
“We are incredibly honoured to continue this event’s powerful legacy,” said Troy Terry. “The work that Ryan and Paige Getzlaf have done over the years is extraordinary. Dani and I are humbled to help carry this mission forward and do our part to move closer to a cure for Duchenne.”
Duchenne muscular dystrophy is one of the most common and severe forms of muscular dystrophy, affecting approximately 1 in 5,000 male births. It causes progressive muscle degeneration and weakness, typically leading to loss of mobility in early adolescence and life- threatening complications in early adulthood. Founded in 2003 by Debra and Paul Miller, CureDuchenne has invested more than $26 million in research, fuelling 19 projects that have advanced to human clinical trials.
“We are so grateful to the Terrys, our generous community, donors, and athletes who support this tournament year after year, this event is more than a fundraiser—it’s a catalyst for progress, hope, and action. Every dollar raised helps bring us closer to a cure.”
Debra Miller, founder and CEO of CureDuchenne
The golf tournament will include appearances by Anaheim Ducks Power Players, on-course games, gourmet food, and hole-in-one opportunities to win luxury prizes. For event details, tickets, and sponsorship opportunities, please visit: cureduchennegolfshootout.org.
